The 2021 schedule of air shows is taking off. The Blue Angels, showcasing the aviation teamwork of US Navy and US Marine Corps pilots, the USAF Thunderbirds, and the US Army’s Screaming Eagles are thrilling audiences across the country.

But did you know these military air shows have their roots in military aviation in wartime: World War i, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and the Gulf war.

The best way to get to know them is through their mission, their families, their legacy.

This video tells the story of SSgt. Jimmie Doyle, a nose gunner on a B-24 Liberator that was shot down over Palau. MIA for 60 years,

This is the story of finding his aircraft and how bringing him home impacted his son, family, and country decades after he died.
